THE THREE PAGE.

It's here.

Doug Henthorn - Three

My third solo release 'Three' is material that I wrote after my first record 'Cold Medicine'. The timing didn't feel right and 'The LLC' was written and released instead.  The timing for 'Three' felt right with the pandemic. I was able (with some difficulty) to put it together with some help from my friends Tim Fuller (bass), Brian Yarde (drums), Devon Ashley (drums), Travis Feaster (guitar), and Troye Kinnett (keys). There are three cover songs that I've always wanted to do as well - I feel they fit in perfectly. The album lyrics are here to download (above) or read (below), and pics. Thanks for checking in! D

THREE - LYRICS

Track 1 - 'Set Em Up, Throw Em Back, Knock Em Down' - D. Henthorn

I found a way to make it outta town. Gonna pray your friends are all around. So we'll see the fate in all our plans. There'll be other hearts, other hands.

Set em up, throw em back, knock em down.

Recall a scene when I was just a lad. There was a tree to see throughout the land. I'd find a girl, accept me anyway I came. Burn like a road flare, can't put out the flame.

Set em up, throw em back, knock em down.

Can a friend take me home? I can't let these drunken dreams alone.

I felt the sun reaching out a hand. Not a care for the weak not worried 'bout the band. I'll say adieu and keep it on the sly. You'll never ever be down with people that keep you high.

Set em up, throw em back, knock em down.

Can a friend take me home? I can't let these drunken dreams alone.

Track 2 - 'Drive' - R. Ocasek

Who's gonna tell you when it's too late? Who's gonna tell you things aren't so great?

You can't go on thinking nothing's wrong. Who's gonna drive you home tonight?

Who's gonna pick you up when you fall? Who's gonna hang it up when you call? Who's gonna pay attention to your dreams? Who's gonna plug their ears when you scream?

You can't go on thinking nothing's wrong. Who's gonna drive you home tonight?

Who's gonna hold you down when you shake? Who's gonna come around when you break?

You can't go on thinking nothing's wrong. Who's gonna drive you home tonight?

Track 3 - 'Fate of None' - D. Henthorn

One man cut to the front of the line, said it's alright. One man fell to the back of the line, said it's alright. It's dog eat dog in a kennel of clowns baying all night, alright.

Black sheep bare sheep gimme some wool, get it all out. They want for the lot for the love of the land, and we're all out. The day won't shake out the blood and the lye and there's no doubt, we're all out.

So starts the fate of one, it becomes the fate of none, oh no. And all will fade to nothing, and all becomes the fate of none.

Not one soul with a tear in his eye, say it's all fine. And just one hand reaches into the pie, say it's all mine. It's a one man new plan, knocking them down, in the slow line, alright.

So starts the fate of one, it becomes the fate of none, oh no. And all will fade to nothing, and all becomes the fate of none.

 Track 4 - 'Forewarned and Failing' - D. Henthorn

I hear the buzz of bullets in the beehive. It's never been said- you never gonna win on that side. Then again the party ends the same way. Out on the bank with a fifth of that rank moonshine. Fill up a cup and feel it in the meantime.

Forty days and always in the same pain. Tried to put away the pills that's a shame that they lie. Still I wait for autoplay to comeback. In a wish I found my limit over the line. Do anything to hideaway the sunshine.

Forewarned and failed in my final hour. Pray send his angels on wings of power. Can't see that things have undone, it's all in good fun now...forewarned and failed my son.

Called in to play and all into the river. Devil to pay, why we always let the Devil decide? You're in to win it, but never can begin it. That's how we made it, the way to compensated demise. Turn on the light, your friend will be here anytime.

Forewarned and failed in my final hour. Pray send his angels on wings of power. Can't see that things have undone, it's all in good fun now...forewarned and failed my son.

Track 5 - 'Wasted Time' - D. Henley, G. Frey

Well baby there you stand, your little head down in your hands. Oh my God I can't believe it's happening again. Your baby's gone and you're all alone, looks like the end.

You're back out on the streets, and you're trying to remember. How do you start it over? Don't know if you can. You don't care much for a strangers touch but you can't hold your man.

You never thought you'd be alone this far down the line but I know what's been on your mind. You're afraid it's all been wasted time.

The autumn leaves have got you thinking about the first time that you fell. You didn't love the boy too much, no you just loved the boy too well.

So you live from day to day and you dream about tomorrow. The hours go by like minutes, the shadows come to stay, so you take a little something to make them go away.

I could have done so many things babe if I could only stop my mind- wondering what I left behind and from worrying 'bout this wasted time.

I remember what you told me before you went out on your own. Sometimes to keep it together you got to leave it alone.

You can get on with your search baby, I can get on with mine, maybe someday we will find that it wasn't really wasted time.

Track 6 - 'Counting Down Every Minute' - D. Henthorn

I nearly caught you, and you thought you could never fall. You say you're right when you're wrong, and now another day's gone on and on.

You can't hold out a hand, help a friend up from the bottom when...you're counting down every minute.

All the guilty ones. I spent time with the pain they've brung. Oh man you miss a lot, when holding on's all you got.

You can't lift up a friend, tell her that she might find a better man...when you're counting down every minute.

I feel the Fall it got colder. The count down to Spring and you're older. It's all over again, always a fool to the end.

When the pistol wins, well you done let the devil in. Say you can't listen too hard. And no trail's too far.

You can't hold out a hand, help a friend up from the bottom when...you're counting down every minute.

I wanna hold out a hand, wanna come in hot but we never can...when you're counting down every minute.

 Track 7 - 'So Long, Goodbye' - D. Henthorn

Go on tell your lies. Do what you do to survive. There's someone in the night, and that one ain't doing you right. One love, sugar fine but one heart still couldn't be mine. With no one to share the load, it's one love one foot in the road.

One day you'll find out what I think of all your running round.  I'm gonna tell you all that I can.

I showed up. Surprise. One day we'll make up our minds. So long, Goodbye.

You're late night telephone, I'm not sure you're ever alone. You so right, and never fail. A tight turn you never derail. Times up, you never came. I don't think I'm ever the same. Some run, some roll, and some think they never grow old.

Hellbound you run away. You never did much for me anyway. It's all been like some cabaret show.

I showed up. Surprise. One day we'll make up our minds. So long, Goodbye.

Track 8 - 'The Tourist' - D. Henthorn

Oh, that's something that you've heard of before.

So little promise, so many time. Who pick to punish, who pick to crime. Don't mess with nothing, don't make no pain. I'm only hangin', got nothing here to gain.

Oh, that's something that you've heard of before.

Not here to riot. Not here to die. I'm just some human. Some random guy. I saw a pistol, another taser gun. He's on a mission yeah accosting everyone.

Oh, that's something that you've heard of before.

Oh, he's wishing that you'd never been born.

Track 9 - 'Across the Universe' - J. Lennon, P. McCartney

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup. They slither while they pass they slip away across the universe. Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting through my open mind. Posessing and caressing me.

Jai guru deva, om

Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world.

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes they call me on and on across the universe. Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letterbox they tumble blindly as they make their way aross the universe.

Jai guru deva, om

Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world.

Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing through my open view inciting and inviting me. Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns it calls me on and on across the universe.

Jai guru deva, om

Nothing's gonna change my world, nothing's gonna change my world.

Track 10 - 'Devil's Come Home' - D. Henthorn

Set out in a world of pain. Wildfire and a hurricane. Tied up, tied around the rail. I'd rather run than to see it fail.

Look like the Devil's come home.

The girl's out to get the money owed. That baited trap leave you dead and cold now. She's down to see somebody roll. She'd come, but she wanna go.

Look like the Devil's come home.

Say that's all you gonna see of me baby. Another town another way to be. It's surreal and the dealer folds.

2020, not a hand to hold.

Look like the Devil come home.
